About Arti Mehta, C.Ped, CFo

Arti Mehta, C.Ped, CFo

Arti Mehta, founder of ProStride Orthotics LLC, is an American Board Certified Pedorthist (C.Ped) and Orthotic Fitter (CFo) through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC)—the leading organization ensuring clinicians meet the highest standards of education, experience, and competency in the field.

Arti earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, followed by post-graduate Pedorthics training at the University of Western Ontario. She began her career as a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, gaining extensive clinical experience at BioPed, where she managed a diverse caseload addressing lower-limb, foot, and ankle conditions—including congenital abnormalities, chronic diseases, and overuse sports injuries. In addition to clinical care, she developed advanced skills in custom orthotic fabrication through on-site lab work, bringing a high level of technical expertise to every patient interaction.

Today, Arti provides comprehensive orthotic and Pedorthic care in Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas, specializing in non-surgical solutions for foot and lower-limb abnormalities. Her expertise includes biomechanical assessments, gait analysis, custom orthotic design, custom footwear, and orthopedic footwear modifications. She also supports runners and walkers by evaluating foot structure and movement patterns to improve efficiency, reduce pain, and prevent injury. In wound care, Arti creates protective, healing-focused orthotic and footwear solutions for individuals with diabetic foot ulcers and other high-risk conditions.

A Pedorthist can assist runners and walkers by evaluating their foot structure and movement patterns to prevent injuries and improve efficiency. For runners, they may recommend custom orthotics to address issues like overpronation or high arches, which can reduce pain and enhance performance. For walkers, they can help optimize footwear for comfort and alignment, ensuring proper posture and preventing discomfort during long walks. In wound care, Pedorthists provide specialized solutions for individuals with foot conditions such as diabetic ulcers, using custom footwear, orthotics, and padding to protect sensitive areas, promote healing, and prevent further injury.

With over a decade of specialized experience, Arti collaborates closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals across Central Virginia to ensure coordinated care. She remains the primary point of contact throughout each patient’s journey, providing a consistent and personalized experience from evaluation to follow-up.

In addition to her clinical work, Arti serves as a Board Member for the Health & Community Resource Network and is part of the American Board for Certification's Orthotic Fitter Analytical Task Force. She has participated in seminars focused on foot and lower-limb health.

On a personal note, Arti enjoys life with her daughter, spending meaningful time with family and friends, cooking, exploring the arts, volunteering, and embracing the outdoors.
