Arti Mehta, the founder of ProStride Orthotics LLC, is an American Board Certified Pedorthist (C.Ped) and Orthotic Fitter (CFo) through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC). ABC ensures that clinicians meet the highest standards in education, experience, and examination within the field.
After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Queen's University in Ontario, Canada, Arti pursued post-graduate studies in Pedorthics at the University of Western Ontario.
Pedorthics is a highly specialized field, and as a former Canadian Certified Pedorthist, Arti gained valuable experience working with BioPed, where she managed a full caseload of patients dealing with a range of lower limb, foot, and ankle conditions—ranging from diseases and congenital defects to overuse sports injuries. She also honed her skills in fabricating custom foot orthotics in on-site labs, bringing her extensive expertise in managing complex foot and ankle diagnoses to the Richmond, Virginia area and its surroundings.
A Pedorthist can assist runners and walkers by evaluating their foot structure and movement patterns to prevent injuries and improve efficiency. For runners, they may recommend custom orthotics to address issues like overpronation or high arches, which can reduce pain and enhance performance. For walkers, they can help optimize footwear for comfort and alignment, ensuring proper posture and preventing discomfort during long walks. In wound care, Pedorthists provide specialized solutions for individuals with foot conditions such as diabetic ulcers, using custom footwear, orthotics, and padding to protect sensitive areas, promote healing, and prevent further injury.
With over a decade of experience in Orthotics and Pedorthics, Arti is passionate about providing non-surgical solutions for foot and lower limb abnormalities. She collaborates closely with local physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals in Central Virginia to ensure the best possible care for her patients. Arti remains the primary point of contact throughout each patient's journey, ensuring a seamless experience.
In addition to her clinical work, Arti serves as a Board Member for the Health & Community Resource Network and is part of the American Board for Certification's Orthotic Fitter Analytical Task Force. She is also a sought-after speaker at seminars focused on foot and lower limb health.
On a personal note, Arti enjoys life with her daughter, as well as with close family and friends. She also has a passion for cooking, exploring the arts, volunteering, and fully embracing the beauty of nature.
